Chicago Columbus Day Parade 2024

This year’s Columbus Day parade in Chicago was significant because indigenous people (specifically from the Native American Guardians Association) joined forces with Italian Americans and took part in the parade. Check out some coverage of the parade below:

New flag raised by the Virginia Flaggers

On Saturday, October 19, the Virginia Flaggers raised a new, 20′ by 30′ Confederate Battle Flag in Danville, Virginia. The flag was dedicated in honor of Col. Powhatan Bolling Whittle, a Lt. Colonel of the 38th Virginia Infantry. It is the 36th mega flag raised by the Virginia Flaggers and the 17th in Danville.

These flags always bring a smile to my face, because they signify that everyone deserves to be accepted and included, and not just those who mindlessly conform to the norms of the majority.
